PTO Elections were held at our meeting on Monday, April 11th and we have exciting updates! We are pleased to introduce our fantastic new PTO executive board comprised of both returning board members as well as some new faces. This should give us some much needed continuity and experience along with new ideas and enthusiasm.
Please welcome: Julie Gramlich, our new Treasurer, Suzanne Yu, our new new VP of Fundraising, Pam Gowda and Rachel Williams, our new Co-VPs of Committees, and welcome back our returning board members: Anju Baluja, Secretary, and Katherine Burglin and Staci D’Aguanno, Co-VPs of Marketing and Communication.
And, a BIG THANK YOU to our retiring board members: Courtney Sullivan, President, Manda Stanley, VP of Committees, Yvette Mayo, Treasurer, and Monica Gilfillan, VP of Fundraising. They all worked incredibly hard on behalf of our school this year and we are so grateful for their support!
Now, here’s where we need your help…Now, for the bad news. We are currently without a President. Although the board can run entirely by committee, the president serves an important role and we would really like to fill this open position! If you are interested in this great opportunity to serve our students and our school, please contact Courtney for more information.
Fireside will be hosting our annual Talent Show on Wednesday, May 4th. Audition permission slips went home last week and need to be returned today. Auditions will be held after school on Wednesday and Thursday. This year, the entire school is invited to participate and audition. However, unlike previous years, the auditions will be judged and only the top 30 acts will be invited to perform. Let your children know about this change. Also note, acts this year can only be 90 seconds in length. Please plan accordingly.
The Book Fair is coming and we need volunteers to help set up, work the event and clean up. If you can help Friday, April 29th, the week of May 2-5th, or Monday, May 6th, sign up here. Laura promises all sorts of baked goods and desserts for those who volunteer! We hear the chocolate chip banana bread is amazing.
We apologize again for the late cancellation of Movie Night. The company providing us with the screen advised against delivering the screen, citing weather concerns. Due to the impending heat, we are planning to reschedule the event in the fall when it is comfortable to be outside. Sorry for the delay!
